Stolen NFT Headaches On OpenSea

The shenanigans continue this week with degens taking big W's with what feels like the return of NFTs this week. We've definitely seen a few projects absolutely run the last couple days and more activity in the AlphaMint server with members all over these drops.

Another record sale this week when the Trippy Mega Mutant Bored Ape Sold for 2300 ETH ($3.91 million). Who said NFTs were dead? Sure looks like boolish sentiment is back, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have the PoS merge coming, American officials pretending we aren't in a recession and liquidity being sucked out of the NFT market. Not to be Deborah Downer and rain on the parade, take it as a caution for all degens looking to wet the beak.

• Black Rock is wasting no time and launches a spot Bitcoin trust

• Celsius carnage continues as Canada's second largest pension fund invested $150M into Celisius

• Coinbase posts $1.1 Billion loss in Q2 causing more stock holder woes

• Ethereum Goerli testnet has been successfully merged and becomes a full Proof of Stake chain. The Ethereum Merge has been scheduled for TTD 58750000000000000000000 which places the merge around Sept. 15-ish

• Unknown user dusts well known celebrity and influencer's wallets with ETH from a Tornado Cash wallet and illuminates the issues that can occur from the sanction

NFTs

• Magic Eden proposes a new AIP (APE Improvement Proposal) to create an exclusive Bored Ape Yacht Club marketplace, much like the original Larva Labs Cryptopunks marketplace

• OpenSea finally addressing the rampant issue with their stolen assets policy causing problems on their platform and raised more questions with their new police report requirement

• Minting platform, Fair.xyz, raises $4.5M with OpenSea being one of the backers

• Premint is going to start requiring all creators to KYC before making allowlist offers to the Collector Pass community

• LinksDAO annouces partnership with IMG Prestige giving access to 200 courses around the globe to holders

• Poof, EtherOrcs Founder, drops a great thread on the NFT market liquidity drying up and what's causing the problem

Web3

• Polygon now has over 37,000 DApps (Decentralized Apps) built on the platform

• Mailchimp, email marketing platform, suspends crypto-related accounts

• Dapper Labs (known for NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day and other sports-based collectibles) partners with Super Bowl winners LA Rams on a full-season NFT deal

• DeFi project Blur Finance rug pulls and disappears with over $600k
